At-Bristol

In 2011, G&V created a striking new advertising campaign for At-Bristol, the leading science and discovery centre, for the launch of the attraction’s new  ‘All About Us’ exhibition, which opened on 11 March 2011.

‘All About Us’ is a new family-friendly permanent exhibition to be situated on the ground floor of At-Bristol.  It investigates how the brain and body work together and how this interaction enables us to relate to people and the world around us.  It includes more than 50 new or significantly enhanced hands-on exhibits, allowing visitors to test human phenomena.

The £1.5 million exhibition, developed in-house by At-Bristol’s expert exhibitions team, was funded by the Wellcome Trust, and is designed to engage both children and adults. The new exhibition builds from and includes some of the most popular exhibits from the previously successful exhibitions, Inside DNA and Your Amazing Brain.

At the time of launch, G&V director Peter Blackman said,

“This has been a fascinating campaign to work on.  We’ve enjoyed working with At-Bristol and their inhouse design team in creating the campaign. Starting with a strategic away-day we were able to build a clear profile of our core target audience of children 7-13.  We then looked at how we could meet the needs of the audience to act independently, to learn how the world works and to have fun testing and discovering the new exhibits in All About Us.

We also identified that it was important that the campaign was both attractive and intriguing for their parents as well, which led us to the key message of All About us - where everyone experiments and experiences together.”

Award winning destination

Following the All About Us launch At-Bristol won Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Bristol Tourism and Hospitality Industry Awards 2011.
